Reduce Your Carbon Footprint with AdBlue
Birlem Oil is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of AdBlue fluid. This means we are able to offer it you at significantly lower prices, in whatever quantity you require.
Unless you drive a Heavy Goods Vehicle above 7.5 tonnes or a diesel engine car that’s fitted with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), it’s likely you’ve never paid attention to the stacks of blue fluid at petrol stations. AdBlue is a diesel exhaust fluid used in diesel engines to help reduce harmful NOx emissions released by diesel engines.
Our AdBlue is of ISO22241 standard which is independently analysed for your peace of mind. To find out more, call us on 020 8801 5497.

What is AdBlue?
AdBlue is officially called AUS32 which stands for Aqueous Urea Solution 32.5%. It contains 32.5% of high purity water and 67.5% of deionised water. Vehicles with Euro IV, V, VI (4, 5 and 6) have a designated tank fitted to store AdBlue.
Why is AdBlue needed?
The diesel exhaust fluid (DEF) has recently become key in helping cut harmful emissions produced by diesel engines. With the government putting increasing pressure on diesel car manufacturers to do something about the substantial amount of harmful emissions released by exhausts, AdBlue was introduced by the automotive industry to help improve our health and cut down on Nitrogen Oxide.
What is selective catalytic reduction (SCR)?
Polluting chemicals and compounds, including Nitrogen Oxide and Nitrogen Dioxide are produced when diesel engines burn fuel. These elements build up in the air and produce smog and acid rain. AdBlue works through a process called selective catalytic reduction (SCR) to remove these harmful emissions.
How does AdBlue work?
When AdBlue is sprayed into a diesel exhaust, it releases ammonia which is a catalyst to a chemical reaction. This converts dangerous chemicals into Nitrogen and water vapour, which are unharmful to our lungs and atmosphere. The diesel will never come into contact with AdBlue because it’s stored in a separate container.
How much AdBlue can I buy?
Our AdBlue quantities vary from 10 litres to 1,000 litres, in set packs or in custom bulk orders. Call us now on 020 8801 5497 for the cheapest price.
What happens if I run out of AdBlue?
If you run out of AdBlue, your engine will not be damaged, nor will the engine shut down. But depending on your vehicle’s specification, some engines automatically limit engine performance when AdBlue runs low in your vehicle’s storage tank. This is especially the case if your engine is equipped with SCR technology. Your vehicle will lose power and reduce its emission according to legal standards.
How do I store AdBlue?
AdBlue’s shelf life varies depending on storage conditions. It has a shorter shelf life in hot conditions but copes well in the cold. If it freezes, you can easily thaw it out and it will continue to work effectively.
We recommend that you store AdBlue in a cool and well-ventilated container or tank that’s out of direct sunlight. As it contains urea, it may corrode your vehicle’s engine.
Here at Birlem Oil we provide barrels, drums and pump kits which are ideal to safely store your AdBlue. Call 020 8801 5497 to speak to one of our experts to order your AdBlue today.
